The importance of key ACO trends is to better understand the plan to decrease fee-for-service and increase value-based payments. Growth through three initiatives will be the foundation to reach CMS’s goal of 100% of Medicare into an accountable care program.
Last year, CMS outlined its vision for increasing access to accountable care organizations. The vision will increase participation in ACOs, improve health equity by expanding the reach of ACOs in underserved communities, and scale successful features of tested models into the Medicare Shared Savings Program.
